Mission Statement |
|
The founders of World
at Play are graduates of Atlantic
College, the 1st college in the United World College
Movement. Atlantic College is an international community
that aims to foster a sense of global interdependence
and responsibility. It is a college that urges its
students to be proactive, to look beyond, and to look
with understanding and awareness. |
 |
|
 |
Students that attended any UWC are
expected to develop an understanding of current world
events and common challenges such as global and regional
conflict and insecurity, environmental degradation,
inequality and their underlying issues. In addition,
students are given opportunities to develop tools
to become influential members of their communities
in the future. |

“It
is our aim that every student leaves AC with an understanding
of what it means to be a global citizen and equipped
with the skills to be positive agents of change through
their actions and life choices” – Atlantic

World
at Play is an expression of the
United World College Movement. Our organisation looks
beyond borders, beyond differences of race and religion,
and reaches out to children using the universal language
of Play. |

"How can there be peace without
people understanding
each other, and how can this be if they don't know
each other?"
Lester B. Pearson,
- Former Canadian Prime
Minister,
President of the UN General Assembly, and Nobel Laureate |

| Children,
and adults alike, need attention. This is something
we can all give, and this is something that we at
World at Play are committed to giving.

Emery, World at Play Founder
