About the trip
The charity’s fourth expedition will take place from September 23rd until November 24th 2012 and travel to Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo and Bulgaria / Romania (TBC) to work with over 2000 disadvantaged children and disabled adults.

Building on the successes of the previous three trips, we will deliver high-impact sport & play sessions and work closely alongside local staff and volunteers to ensure long-term benefit to the children and adults we work with.

What will it involve?
After a week-long intensive preparation and training period, the team will travel to each country for 10-14 days at a time to deliver sessions and build partnerships. At each destination, the nature of the work is likely to vary depending on the partnership organisation’s needs - from the balance of sport and games to the focus on having fun or working with challenging behaviour. A sport and play approach will be used throughout the stay to engage with the children / young people / disabled adults and their carers.

As well as the sessions, each place will have different food, local customs, accommodation arrangements and touristic highlights, which will make for an exciting and ever-changing trip. It will be an opportunity for personal learning and growth, and a chance to share that with like minded adventurers!
